Technogym SKILLROW

Technogym, the world leading producer of design and technology-driven fitness equipment and solutions, is debuting a new machine for their product line, the SKILLROW. SKILLROW is the first connected indoor rowing equipment designed to improve anaerobic power, aerobic capacity and neuromuscular abilities in one solution.

The SKILLROW was developed with input from elite athletes in the rowing world including British Rowing Olympic Gold Medalist at Rio de Janeiro, Scott Durant and other Olympic rowers. As the six-time official fitness supplier to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Technogym set out to develop a rowing product designed to provide an unparalleled experience that simulates the actual act of rowing on water: AQUAFEEL. SKILLOW resistance follows the natural curve of the stroke in the water and with AQUAFEEL, the resistance is gradual, making the movement fluid and avoiding the backlash effect on the lower back.

The MULTIDRIVE technology (patent-pending) enables users to add a further resistance on top of air resistance. This ground-breaking innovation makes it possible for users to change the equipment mode from cardiovascular training to power training by simply adjusting the resistance level. By setting the resistance at low, medium or high, users can perform the rowing movement at various levels of difficulty when executing power exercises. The MULTIDRIVE technology also makes it safe to perform triple extensions (targeting hips, knees and ankles) with explosive forceful movements, just like one would during the push off phase when jumping and sprinting.

To improve sports performance Technogym developed TNT TECHNOGYM NEUROMUSCULAR TRAINING, a new methodology that helps create high intensity workouts aimed at improving sports performance. The TNT has been developed by TECHNOGYM’s Scientific Department in cooperation with professional athletes and research institutes. It offers specific exercise routines designed to stimulate both the neuromuscular and the metabolic components of performance through cadence variations providing improved muscle activation, increased inter muscular coordination, greater coordination between fibres of individual muscles and muscle groups, and reduced metabolic effort due to better muscular recruitment.

The SKILLROW can be used alongside a wide variety of equipment for small group or circuit training. It is fully compatible with Technogym's UNITY Self, for connected group training that allows the instructor to control the music, motivate and host races between rowing teams within the class.

A versatile product, the SKILLROW is ideal for personal workouts, small group training or group fitness classes and can be adapted to nearly any type of training environment. The simple and elegant display provides a variety of feedback options and includes an integrated phone cradle for access to the UNITY SELF SKILLROW APP. The App is a portal to a unique virtual world where users can follow a pace boat, access a variety of programs, workout with a virtual trainer or see bio-feedback about their workout. A rower can even challenge a friend to a race from the App.

Technogym, founded in 1983, has equipped over 65,000 wellness centers and over 100,000 homes around the world with approximately 35 million people using its equipment daily. The SKILLROW is part of Technogym's new product line, yet to be revealed, so stay tuned! All equipment in this line has been developed to assist athletes in training, as well as average exercisers who want results. Learn more here.
