Renate Hermes

It is a transformative experience being part of nature, I would even describe it as being spiritual and profound!
During the retreat, the horses became our healers. They can remove energy blocks, make you laugh and cry and aware we are all connected.

Group Spa Director and Co-Owner, Duniye Spas

Born in Germany, but currently residing in Maldives, Renate Hermes is the Group Spa Director and Co-Owner of Duniye Spas. A 23-year spa industry veteran, Renate enjoys supporting the Jane Goodall Institute, running on the beach and paddle boarding in the warm waters off the Maldives. Wine and cheese are her guilty pleasures while hiking in the mountains is her favorite way to connect to nature and exercise.

“Having just participated in an equine healing retreat, I must say, the experience was absolutely fascinating. As a Reiki Master myself I’m very receptive to supple energy forms. During the retreat, the horses become our healers. They remove energy blocks, they can make you laugh, and make you cry. But the most surprising is that they can make you aware that we are all connected.

The horses have so much wisdom from which we can learn. Aside from working with the horses, the property also provided us with the amazing opportunity to connect with the land. It is a transformative experience being part of nature, I would even describe it as being spiritual and profound!

The most important lesson I left that equine healing retreat with was when we learn to listen and to receive the message from nature, the animal kingdom and or universe is sending us, we learn who we are, where we are, and where we may need to go next.”
